For Women

WHR’s role is to offer even more—and better—choices.

Women’s Health Research was established to improve the quality of life for women by conducting clinical studies of promising new procedures, medical devices and medicines. It is the only clinical research organization in Arizona focused exclusively on women’s health.

Women volunteers who meet criteria, and take part in the clinical studies, are women making important medical choices. They:

  • Help advance science
  • Receive new or aggressive non-standard treatment for conditions and diseases that may not yet be available to the general public
  • Receive high-quality medical care as a part of the study
  • Receive reimbursement for time, transportation and other costs associated with participation

Women volunteers know they are valued beyond their role as study participants. The physicians and staff of WHR place the health and well-being of each participant at the forefront and the patient/physician/staff relationship does not end when the study concludes.

About WHR

“Offering women tomorrow’s medicine today”

Today, thanks in large part to the work of organizations, such as Women’s Health Research, women are being included in medical research studies in greater numbers. WHR is committed to the concept that expanded and sustained research on women’s health will bring results. It will improve women’s health and will save women’s lives. Women’s Health Research is Arizona’s only independent clinical trials site whose sole mission is to improve the health of women through research. Founded in 1998, WHR has brought statewide attention to the need for appropriate inclusion of women in major medical research studies and the resulting need for more information about conditions affecting women.

For more than 20 years, the physicians of OB/GYN Consultants, Ltd. have made patients and quality clinical research a priority in their practice. They have now brought that expertise to Women’s Health Research, expanding their focus from beyond traditional gynecologic conditions to more global women’s health issues. See Experience.
Centrally located in Phoenix, Arizona, Women’s Health Research (WHR), is ideally positioned in an area with a multi-ethnic, multi-generational patient population. It is the only clinical research organization in Arizona focused exclusively on women’s health.
WHR’s highly experienced investigational team includes:

  • Micah Harris, M.D., Investigator, Medical Director, and Physician with OB/GYN Consultants
  • Shelly Renee Crosson, P.A-C, Investigator and Physician Assistant with OB/GYN Consultants
  • Clinical Research Team collectively representing over 40 years of experience managing clinical trials
